My top 5 Skincare Saviours Naturally!

Hello beauties! hope everyone's making a great start to the bank holiday weekend!

I have decided to use this long weekend to help my skin to recuperate and relax with a no make-up and no stresses...

We all love a change of season specially from winter to spring and into summer but I'm sure there are many people like me who have temperamental skin types when no change is great and usually when the season changes so does our skin and not in a good way!

Over the last few years I have accumulated a group of products that I always fall back on o rescue my skin and today I'm going to give you a rundown of these and why I think everyone should have then in their bathroom cupboard.

I don't think its a coincidence that all of these products are all natural with no artificial/chemical/animal byproducts..
Our skin loves natural! and we should try and feed it with as much wholesome organic food as we do to our to body! You will see a very positive result and there will be no going back I promise!

1. A'kin 'Rose & Geranium Pure Creamy Cleanser & Toner in One'

This Australian made cleanser is made using Geranium & Rose with soothing Shea Butter and vitB5 .
Its my all time favourite cleanser when I feel that my skin needs a bit more loving then usual from what my usual Origins 'Checks & Balances' wash off cleanser provides.
Its perfect for skin going through seasonal changes and general upset.. This is a beautiful and soothing cleanser suitable for most skin types even oily! it cleanses without stripping your skin of its natural oils and will settle most unsettled skin specially if you are suffering from dry patches and uneven skintone. This cleaner can be wiped off using a tissue or can also be used as a rinse off what ever your preference is.

2. Avene 'Soothing Moisture Mask'

This mask is my back-up for when my skin feels completely drained and knackedred. this French made face mask (and we all know french made skincare/cosmetics is the best!)
Its made using Avene Thermal Spring Water. This mask will rescue dehydrated skin and will nourish and help rebuild your skins natural barriers which can get damaged through very hasrsh winters. Its anti-irrataing formulation will soothe redness helping to reduce tightness and stinging of very dehydrated skin and damaged skin. Its is specific to sensitive skin types but I've had no adverse reaction to this mask and I have combination skin which sometimes borders onto oily. I have used this on and off for the last 10 years.

3. Liz Earle 'Instant Boost Skin Tonic'

This is the best of British! I love this toner. This non-alcoholic toner will not dry your skin and to me its more then a toner as when your skin is needing that break this is enough to use on its own without topping up with another moisturiser. This will quench your skin and cleanse at the same time.
This skin tonic is so refreshing and the scent is amazing! a little bit of summer in a bottle.  I even spritz my kids with it! that's how gentle this is..
This is packed full soothing natural ingredients from Aloe, Cucumber, Calendula and Camomile to name a few and is a must for anyone looking for a toner which will help to balance their skin without stripping it any way. This has been a staple in my bathroom & bedroom for the last 5 years.

4. SBC  short for 'SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION'   'Aloe Vera & Cucumber Gel'

My very sweet sister in law introduced me to SBC and I am forever grateful to her, as this range is amazing.
SBC is bought to us by a British Skin Care Company who use only the best of what nature provides.

This gel is all natural as expected, with White Tea, Witch Hazel and the Aloe Vera and Cucumber which we all know is great for its soothing and healing property.
This is a life saver if you have skin which has become inflamed or suffered from sunburn or even skin that has suffered an allergic reaction. This will sooth your skin straightaway!
I use this on my children when they get chaffs or bruises and is always in my kitchen. Its also great for after waxing or shaving.
This is a great everyday moisturiser on its own for skin needing a break and to help restore it to a healthy state. It will keep your skin hydrated and protected at the same time.

5. SBC Propolis Gel.

This is very similar to the above mentioned SBC gel apart from the major difference that this  SBC Gel is produced with the combination of Bee's wax, Bee's secretion and essential oils. Propolis is what's created by bee's from the bark of tree's. It is used by bee's to repair the damage to their hives..
There is very solid research that Propolis is beneficial to our skin. It is anti inflammatory, wound healing, antiviral and fights infections. It can be found naturally in honey.
Propolis is also packed with amino acids, vitamins which all help contribute to a healthy skin. I used this throughout my last pregnancy as a daily moisturiser as I wanted to stay away from prabens and other synthetic ingredients and it worked a wonder. My boy is now nearly 4 yrs old and I'm still using this.
This is what I always go to when my skin is playing up! and it moisturises beautifully while soothing any irritation.
I suffer no break outs when I use this and always have a 500ml bottle at home and have a smaller bottle to carry around.

I hope you guys found this post useful and would love some feedback :)

Here's to a beautiful bank holiday weekend!

What's on your lips?

Do you always know what your wearing on your lips? or do you just know the name of the brand & shade? With Red lipsticks being very popular at the moment and me trying to find my perfect shade of red I found out a few more things then I had anticipated.... Well this may not be news to some people as it was to me but it really did shock me to find out that nearly 50% of all lipsticks manufactured in the US contains pig fat to give the shiny appearance!  I always thought to myself that in this day and age where there are so many synthetic & vegetarian alternative's cosmetic companies wouldn't still be using animal derived ingredients but I was very disappointed by what I found. The very brief summary below shows a list's all the animal, fish, insect derived ingredients which are used routinely in majority of lipsticks here in the UK. Names of animal derived ingredients. Wax (usually beeswax)  provides the solid shape of the lipstick. Glycerine (usuall

*Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation versus *Urban Decay NakedSkin Liquid Make-Up swatches

Swatches From Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation in Beige & Toasted Beige & Decay naked Skin Liquid Make-Up shade 6, 7 ,  Hello my lovelies! Today's post is all about my latest foundation swatches for shades suitable for mid-tone South Asian skin colouring (as in me) or Olive skin tones without too much yellow.   The samples I picked up are from Benefit and Urban Decay . I picked up 2 of each from the 2 different brands and was colour matched by the make-up consultant and was given 2 samples from each to try out at home, which is great as its really difficult to get a real match under the store lights.. The foundation swatches that I am reviewing today are 'Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW from Benefit (shades *Beige & *Toasted Beige)   Naked Skin Liquid Make-Up from Urban Decay (*shades no 6 & 7) which is the first F oundation by Urban Decay. They do have a Beauty Balm but I was looking for a natural finish foundation for everyday use duri
